Chances are you were really working the handlebars leading up to it cutting out. The Honda PS system when over heated cuts out to save itself, giving you regular steering effort. If you start raising the rpm's while sitting still you will feel the power steering start to work. Some reading on the subject.This is what I remember from retreiving codes.
