With the stack decay bug going on, I definitely lean on Flare more. Empowered has a hilarious interaction with Laetum in that Laetum's Devouring Attrition buff boosts Empowered - so that's 750 damage with a 2,000% multiplicative bonus. The nerf to overwhelming Attrition was negligible. Anything that can survive multiple hits from it is going to get procs anyway, and anything that can't isn't going to need either of them. That wasnt my question. Xatas whisper itself is an independent tick of damage that cant crit but it has its own status chance and can proc the void bubble effect. The damage xatas whisper does since it doesnt crit and comes off your weapon it gains the devouring attrition buff. Shot does trash damage no matter what, not the normal version or incarnon version or anything. Im almost certain this is a bug because of the hilarious fact that literally every single thing in the game gets shredded with the laetum including liches who iirc have a very similar system in regards to the defense and status effects and whatnot as acolytes.
