If I apply this year I would get red stickers and be able to use them in the carpool lane until Jan 1 2022. This would be 3 years and 3 months roughly. However if I wait the 3 months and get them after January 1 2019 the website says they would be good until Jan 1 2023 which is 4 years.With the current rules, you can get new stickers with a new car.
