There is a lot more variety and cool minor effects sprinkled over the game when compared to KM and that is just more fun. WotR has a lot more reactivity to your race, class and choices when compared to Kingmaker and that is pretty fun. The visuals in WotR are definetly a step above KM, i doubt anyone would deny it. Animal domain gives a pet at class level 4 with a -3 level penalty, so you need to take Boon Companion to scale it up to its full potential.
