Actually Glock sued Smith Wesson over the Sigma which copied the Glock very closely. The SD9's were after the law suit for Smith Wesson to Kinda save face. the SD9VE are ok guns. They are kinda just what they are.Of course with all of this we must keep in mind one thing: The SD9VE retails for around $349 currently while the MP9C is between $100-$150 more. Feeling each one in the hand like this is akin to comparing a stripped-down base version of a Toyota Corolla versus a fully-optioned Acura sedan, leather seats and all.It resembles the M&P 2.0. The SD9 2.0 trigger breaks cleanly at 5.6 pounds. Reset is sharp. The trigger is a huge improvement in the SD9 series. A polymer-frame pistol, with a stainless slide, the SD9 is attractive. The sights are a white three-dot offering a good, fast sight picture.I have both the SD9 & 40VE. It is basically a Sigma with about 8 lb. trigger vs the Sigma 12+ Lb. and a real accessory rail. The 40 is my HD/Bedside pistol w/120 Lumen light rail mounted. The trigger is a bit gritty on both as is the slide action on the 9, but neither has more than 200 rd. trouble free thru them.
